CSDC helps high impact, high quality charter schools acquire and
finance facilities at the lowest possible cost.
Over its decade-plus history, CSDC has provided or procured
roughly $590 million in capital financing and facilities for 225
charter schools in 24 states and the District of Columbia. It has
steadily expanded its program offerings and financial services as
the charter school movement has grown from a single school in
Minnesota 20 years ago to about 1.7 million students attending over
5,400 charter schools in 41 states and the District of Columbia
today, with 420,000 families on charter school waiting lists
nationwide.
Check out our Featured Projects to see what CSDC is
doing to narrow the facilities gap so that
charter school educators can focus on closing the achievement
gap.
Here's what some of CSDC's partners and clients have to say:
"The Two Roads Charter School Board of Directors would like to
take this occasion to express its profound appreciation for the
Charter Schools Development Corporation's role in helping us to
secure our new campus.
Prior to learning of CSDC, Two Roads had explored various
funding possibilities from a number of sources. Only CSDC responded
in a manner that reflected a genuine concern for the health and
well-being of our program and its mission. CSDC's subsequent
guidance, support and financial resources were absolutely essential
to enabling our school to take advantage of a once in-a-lifetime
opportunity to acquire a very unique property. Even as the school
continues to face significant challenges, CSDC has expressed its
faith in our determination and continues to offer a wealth of
expertise to help us succeed."

"...Regions Bank agreed to finance our expansion, but
could only provide 80% of the appraised value. Since we have
very little cash in reserve, the amount needed to fill the funding
gap was beyond our capability ... the Building Block Fund came to
our rescue."
- Gary L. Moore, Superintendent
Benton County School of the Arts, Rogers, AR
"As a nonprofit start-up, our organization was too risky for a
bank to commit to... Without the help of CSDC's Building Block
Fund, we would not have been able to open City High School."
- Carrie Brennan, Principal
City High School, Tucson, AZ
"If CSDC had not joined us Great River School may never have
gotten off the ground.... CSDC has continued to support Great River
School as it develops plans to improve the facility to further its
goal as a leading Montessori High School."
- Craig Harris, President
Great River School Board of Directors
Great River School, St. Paul, MN
"While the bank has endeavored to assist charter schools in this
area they are still a relatively new element in our
community. Without your assistance we would not have been
able to provide them with the financing they needed to acquire
their new building..."
- Bill Hornung, Senior Vice
President
Bank of America, Kansas City, MO
"Due to your hard work and loan enhancement program, Bank One,
NA was able to provide $1,450,000 in term financing to Northland
Preparatory Academy for the purchase and renovation of a new campus
in Flagstaff, Arizona..."
- Christian Bowers, V.P. Business
Banking Manager,
Bank One, Flagstaff, AZ
"The last charter school the Bank of Tucson approved a loan for
was a direct result of your credit enhancement program.
Without the credit enhancement we would not have approved the loan
to City High School."
-Jason Grabosh,
Bank of Tucson, Tucson, AZ
"I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for your
assistance on the recent loan transaction for Community Montessori
School located in southern Indiana...without your participation we
would not have been able to approve your request and the
construction
that is underway right now would not be happening."
