The pitfalls to acquiring charter school financing are numerous and costly. Charter FS, a division of CSDC, guides charter schools through the financing maze. School board members receive knowledgeable, thoughtful and independent advice, allowing school leaders and staff to focus on the day-to-day requirements of managing a successful charter school.
Charter FS has the expertise and capacity to support schools through the entire financing process. This starts with initial planning and debt capacity evaluation, and includes exploration of potential funding options (typically commercial banks). Charter FS will also assist board members in comparing term sheets and selecting the most affordable and appropriate funding source for the project. After the funding source selection, Charter FS will continue to provide underwriting support and documentation review and see the project through to funding.
Financing can be arranged for short-term operational loans, equipment, leasehold improvements, facility financing and long term debt refinancing.
