Austin P. Frum, a founding member of CSDC’s Board of Directors and its Chairman since February 2002, passed away on January 4, 2008 at the age of 74. To honor our dear friend and his steadfast devotion to the mission of CSDC - the leading financial partner and facility solutions provider to charter schools nationally - CSDC has named Austin as its Chairman Emeritus and established the “Austin P. Frum Memorial Scholarship Fund.”
The Scholarship Fund will provide substantial college assistance to top graduates of public charter high schools in the District of Columbia and nationally, in recognition of Austin’s salutary leadership and invaluable service to CSDC resulting in thousands of children and families who have benefited (and will benefit for years to come) from having access to a high quality public education.
Contributions to the fund can be made payable to “The Austin P. Frum Memorial Scholarship Fund” and mailed in care of CSDC to our offices at 7272 Park Circle Drive Ste 265, Hanover, MD 21076.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 13, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, 4444 Arlington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22204 at 2pm, with reception following at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to this scholarship fund or to Capital Hospice.
