The Austin P. Frum “Charter Scholars” Memorial Scholarship Fund is the premiere national competitive scholarship program that recognizes and supports graduating seniors of charter high schools who plan to pursue a college or vocational technical education in a recognized or accredited institution of higher learning. The Scholarship Fund was created to honor Austin and his steadfast devotion to the mission of CSDC. Austin was an original member of CSDC's Board of Directors and had served CSDC continuously in a
leadership capacity since its founding a decade ago. Austin's invaluable service to CSDC resulted in thousands of children and families benefiting from having access to a high quality public education and the Scholarship Fund will pay tribute to his legacy and many contributions to CSDC and the charter school movement.
Scholarship recipients will be known as “Charter Scholars” and will be recommended by their principal and selected based upon GPA, leadership skills, references, and financial need. Finalists will be interviewed by an Advisory Board before a final selection is made.
The Scholarship Fund will provide financial assistance to top graduates of public charter high schools, initially limited to the District of Columbia, then expanding nationally.

Initial contributions to the Scholarship Fund came from friends of the Frum family, which designated CSDC as one of two charities to receive contributions made in Austin's memory. Your tax-deductible contribution can be made payable to "The Austin P. Frum Memorial Scholarship Fund" and mailed in care of CSDC to our offices at 7272 Park Circle Drive Ste 265, Hanover, MD 21076.
